SUMMARY:Conflict In The Comments 2.0
DESCRIPTION:A 90-minute online conversation \nRelationships are being created\, nourished and sometimes destroyed in online spaces. Are there ways to nourish authentic dialogue and conflict resolution when things get painful online? How can we deal with online hate and misinformation – or friends and relatives reposting such things – and get through heated arguments to meaningful communication? \nJoin Rivera Sun and Dominic Barter to explore these questions and emergent best practices for an online conversation\, moderated by Erin Thompson. \nThese online skills can also translate into a toolbox that we can use in the street or around the dinner table to shift from fighting to opening hearts and minds. \nRegister Now! \n  \nAuthor/Activist Rivera Sun\, is the Editor of Nonviolence News\, a nationwide trainer in strategy for nonviolent movements\, and the author of many books and novels\, including The Dandelion Insurrection and The Way Between. She is the Advancing Nonviolence Coordinator for Pace e Bene and has been a social media for social change coordinator for Campaign Nonviolence\, Metta Center for Nonviolence\, and others. \nDominic Barter is internationally recognized as a reference in the field of restorative responses to conflict\, starting in the gang-controlled shantytown favelas of Rio de Janeiro. He has spent over 28 years developing empathetic social technologies of dialogue\, including 10 years as a collaborator in Redes Cordiais\, a Brazilian program for social media influencers\, politicians and journalists. \nDeep Gratitude to our Friends and Co-Sponsors at Pace e Bene
