Katie Thomas
Raised in the Metro Detroit area, Katie Thomas came to Rochester to pursue higher education at the University of Rochester in 2018. As a member of the Class of 2022, Katie recently graduated with a dual-degree BA in Political Science and Religion. During her undergraduate years, Katie discovered her love for community engagement, passion for social change, and interest in decarceration work. Participating in the Rochester Youth Year program, Katie is working with the Gandhi Institute as the 2022-2023 AmeriCorps VISTA. As an adopted-Rochestarian, Katie views Rochester as a hidden gem, with a special spirit for social justice and collectivity that she is ecstatic to be a part of for a bit longer.
