Picture of Sean Watson

Sean Watson

Sean Watson (he/they) works professionally in the University of Rochester in Residential Life and Housing Services, thinking day in and out about how to create and maintain human connections within community. When not at work, Sean spends most of their waking hours with their family or listening to an audiobook.

Sean joined the Rochester community as a graduate student in 2010 at the University of Rochester where they had their first interaction with the Gandhi Institute through a training on restorative circle processes. After leaving Rochester for full time employment, they were consistently aware of the Gandhi Institute through social media and emails. Upon returning to Rochester in 2018 to work at RIT, Sean knew that being involved in the community was something important to focus on. Having completed the United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes Pride Leadership Development Program, seeking involvement in an organization rooted in Rochester like the Gandhi Institute was a perfect next step. As a proud graduate of two major Rochester area schools, Sean feels deeply connected to the city and values the work that the Gandhi Institute does to build on peace to advance the work of human dignity.

We acknowledge the land on which we gather is the treaty territory of the Haudenosaunee Peoples.
