Wendy is a historian who researches and writes about African American history and the social history of medicine.
She is the author of The Peculiar Institution and the Making of Modern Psychiatry, 1840- 1880. She’s currently writing a history on health care inequities in 20th-century Rochester. She received her Ph.D. from the College of William and Mary. She loves delicious food and yoga.
