The play "Jagadamba" is the story of Gandhi‘s wife Kasturba. Kasturba Gandhi had no formal education and yet participated in and led nonviolent struggles in both South Africa and India.  She died in prison during WWII. This play tells the story of the Gandhis' remarkable lives through her eyes.

On Gandhi‘s birthday, we will remember, reflect, and offer peace prayers with representatives from different faiths for a more peaceful and harmonious world. Led by Thomas Warfield and Dr. Muhammad Shafiq.

We will bring the Gandhi@150 celebration to a close by affirming our commitment as individuals and collectively as the Rochester/Monroe County community to Gandhi‘s ideals of peace and nonviolence to create a harmonious, peaceful, and happy society.

The documentary, "Backs Against the Wall: The Howard Thurman Story" will be shown with conversation following. This event is presented in partnership with Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School and The Cinema Theater.
