Conflict is often presented to us as a negative experience to avoid. But what can we discover about ourselves and others when we approach conflict creatively? Through interactive exercises, discussion, and role plays, this two-hour session focuses on exploring thoughts and people who we associate with conflict. Registration: bianca@gandhiinstitute.org

The play "Jagadamba" is the story of Gandhi‘s wife Kasturba. Kasturba Gandhi had no formal education and yet participated in and led nonviolent struggles in both South Africa and India.  She died in prison during WWII. This play tells the story of the Gandhis' remarkable lives through her eyes.

Join us at the Gandhi House for our annual open house and celebration of Gandhi’s 150th birthday. Featuring: treats, giveaways, & the grand opening of our new conflict transformation labyrinth & mural. Drop in anytime from 2pm-5pm to join the fun!  

On Gandhi‘s birthday, we will remember, reflect, and offer peace prayers with representatives from different faiths for a more peaceful and harmonious world. Led by Thomas Warfield and Dr. Muhammad Shafiq.

We will bring the Gandhi@150 celebration to a close by affirming our commitment as individuals and collectively as the Rochester/Monroe County community to Gandhi‘s ideals of peace and nonviolence to create a harmonious, peaceful, and happy society.

The documentary, "Backs Against the Wall: The Howard Thurman Story" will be shown with conversation following. This event is presented in partnership with Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School and The Cinema Theater.

Gandhi (played by Ben Kingsley), the beloved Indian leader who piloted the use of nonviolent social change in South Africa and India.
